Logo Maker Shop is a mobile app that helps business owners create logos easily, even without design skills. With over 8 million downloads and a #26 ranking in the US App Store’s Graphics & Design category, it’s a go-to choice for early-stage entrepreneurs creating their first logos or quickly launching their businesses with minimal cost.
During team discussions, it became clear that the many possible use cases were difficult to grasp. Since free and pro user flows differed, I created a condition-based guide to clarify the logic and simplify the export experience. This approach also helped the development team structure the flow more efficiently without listing every case separately.
At the start of the sprint, there was concern that removing the overly prominent subscribe CTA from the previous design might lower trial conversion rates. To reduce this risk, I used UX writing to enhance engagement and highlighted pro options individually, helping users better understand the value of upgrading.
To maintain a consistent experience across different devices and languages, I created responsive UI guidelines and incorporated subtle motion design to ensure seamless transitions between the editor and export screens.
We frequently received inquiries about how to download images, even though the "Save" button already saved designs to both the app and the user's camera roll. To resolve this confusion, I improved the UX writing to better clarify the button’s function.
By analyzing usage data for the share options, I also removed underused export choices, improving the affordance of the remaining buttons. These updates led to a 4.9% increase in the export rate and successfully eliminated customer inquiries about downloading images.
